Stites to Present at Annual NIHRA Conference
Tony Stites was a presenter at the Northeast Indiana Human Resources Association’s Annual Conference on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in the Walb Student Union on the campus of Purdue Fort Wayne.
Mr. Stites presented on the employment ramifications of marijuana in the workplace, the rulings from the Department of Labor raising the minimum salary threshold required for workers to qualify for the Fair Labor Standards Act "white collar" salary exemption, and he provided an update on recent National Labor Relations Board decisions. He discussed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rescinding the existing rule on tracking of workplace injuries and illnesses, and their final rule eliminating the electronic submission requirements for large employers. Mr. Stites also discussed recent case law and its impact on human resource professionals.
Mr. Stites has extensive experience representing businesses of all sizes, from small to Fortune 500 companies. He works alongside human resource professionals and in-house counsel on matters such as wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act issues, personnel policies and records, employee discipline and discharge, and on responses to union organizing drives, union picketing and strikes, and collective bargaining. He regularly presents on labor and employment topics to local and statewide organizations.
